Today's learners are diverse consumers. Our job is to engage, teach and mentor those who have different learning styles, different generational expectations and short attention spans. How do you best-teach those with diverse backgrounds and experience levels? We must adapt our teaching methods to the seven expectations of the two youngest generations.

This session provides a "how–to” approach for developing a concept map as an active teaching/learning tool helping students "put the pieces of the puzzle together.” Development, grading, repetition and barriers will be discussed. Concept Maps will be provided as examples for use for study or examples with teaching. Understanding how concept mapping really works in developing clinical judgment is an eye-opener for many.

Educational escape rooms provide nursing students with an opportunity to critically think in a safe learning environment. The participants are placed in a locked room and given a predetermined time to escape and problem solve through each step of the activity. An escape room requires careful planning and implementation to promote teamwork collaboration and clinical judgment amongst the students. This webinar will discuss how escape rooms can be developed and implemented in nursing education.

This session will provide a how to approach for curriculum revisions using a systematic head-to-toe technique. Samples on how to begin this process for a course will be provided. Curriculum revisions may seem overwhelming, therefore, tips to properly implement the course changes, as well as prepare the students for these modifications will help support those interested in revising their own curriculum. This will assist in creating a clear and concise delivery method so that students can learn the content and easily apply it to exams.

This webinar will provide a definition and key attributes of clinical judgment. We will discuss strategies to teach and evaluate these skills including the utilization of the SBAR framework for post-conference debriefing, collaborative quizzing, and even updates to the dreaded clinical paperwork.

NCLEX® Preparation in Final Nursing Courses - An innovative session for NCLEX® preparation in final nursing courses. Students need to be prepared to take their NCLEX® upon graduation and through the use of standardized testing products faculty can use these results to teach to the cohort’s areas of weakness.

In 2023, the NCLEX® exam was changed to better assess decision making and clinical judgment. To better prepare our students, faculty must incorporate NGN questions in all course exams and use teaching strategies that promote clinical judgment skills.

Teaching and Using a Detailed Clinical Judgment Framework for NCLEX® Success - This session will provide insight into the importance of adopting a clinical judgment framework. Clinical judgment is essential for student success on the NGN; therefore, by adapting a clinical judgment framework faculty can easily scaffold knowledge throughout the clinical experience.
