For many years, NCSBN has studied the training and retention of new graduate nurses. They and others find the inability of new graduates to adequately transition into practice can have grave consequences including errors contributing to patient harm or death. This conference will provide nurse educators and administrators with valuable information to better prepare nursing students for safely transitioning into practice through the development of clinical judgment skills, connecting theory to clinical practice.
