Join Iggy in Summer Camp as she updates nurse educators on the latest practices for helping students learn clinical judgment to promote safe quality patient care! Topics include a focus on classroom and clinical learning strategies and learning assessments, including an NGN update. July 8 (Week 1): Using Active Learning Strategies to Develop Clinical Judgment in the Classroom or Virtual Environment
• Describe selected evidence-based learning strategies that engage students in the classroom or virtual environment.
• Plan at least 2 new ideas for active learning to develop clinical judgment in the classroom or virtual environment.

July 15 (Week 2): Assessing Learning in the Classroom and Virtual Environment: Formative and Summative Tools
• Differentiate selected evidence-based tools and methods to assess formative and summative learning.
• Use a step-by-step approach to explain how to write valid and reliable, high-cognitive level NCLEX®-style test items.

July 22 (Week 3): Incorporating and Assessing Learning to Develop Clinical Judgment in the Practice Environment
• Identify selected evidence-based focused learning strategies that promote clinical judgment development in the practice environment.
• Describe how to develop valid and reliable formative and summative clinical evaluation tools.

July 29 (Week 4): Getting Ready for the Next-Generation NCLEX® (NGN): A Systematic Approach
• Articulate a systematic plan for helping students prepare for the NGN (RN and PN/VN).
• Develop ideas for how to implement own systematic plan for NGN preparation, including using new item types.
