The implementation of the AACN Core Competencies for Professional Nursing Education has accelerated and prioritized the role of Competency Based Education within nursing programs. Faculty are being challenged to develop assessment strategies that allow students to practice, expand, and ultimately demonstrate their nursing competency across time, context, and complexity. This requires an intentional implementation strategy by individual faculty and integration across the curriculum. This webinar will discuss key concepts of competency assessment, as well as lessons learned by a small faculty team that has begun this shift to competency based assessment.
