Professional Background

Deanne A. Blach, MSN, RN, CNE, NPD-BC has been organizing conferences for 25 years on a regional and national level. Deanne obtained her BSN from Creighton University in Omaha, NE and an MSN from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway.  She has certification from the NLN as a Certified Nurse Educator(CNE) and Board Certified through the ANA for Professional Nursing Development (NPD-BC).

Deanne has been a nursing education practitioner for 25+ years. She taught full time at a community college in Northwest Arkansas helping students succeed in Med/Surg, Fundamentals, Pharmacology, Nutrition in Nursing, and Nursing Math. She also has facilitated clinical and online courses.

Her nursing foundation was built in adult critical care including surgical and cardiovascular ICU and she was certified as a Critical Care RN (CCRN) for many years.

Deanne further developed her leadership skills as Head Nurse of a Surgical Intensive Care Unit and the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit. She worked as a clinical sales consultant in wound care for Hill-Rom, earning the “Southern Area Star Award” and became a member of the Pinnacle Club.  She taught nearly one thousand nurses about wound care and proper patient selection for specialty beds during her years in wound care. 

Deanne was Director of Continuing Education for the Area Health Education Center (AHEC-NW)before launching her own company, DB Productions of NW AR.  She was the Lead Nurse Planner for UAMS-AHEC NW and North Arkansas Partnership for Health Education (NAPHE) for 20 years.

In addition to being an expert in nursing professional development with planning conferences for continuing education, Deanne’s passion and expertise is in developing concept maps for nursing faculty and students.  Her concept maps are found in multiple nursing text books.  She has 2 concept mapping books for sale with 50 different concept maps that can be used throughout the curriculum.  Deanne presents nationally on how concept mapping can be used to make critical connections to foster clinical judgment in the nursing student.
