Deanne A Blach

      Deanne A. Blach, MSN, RN is an educator and nurse entrepreneur who has a passion for students and nursing education.  President of DB Productions, she is the Event Director and Nurse Planner for 10 years for the nursing education conference held each April, the Nurse Educator Institute,  in Branson, MO (www.northark.edu/ahec).  She is a nurse planner for Boot Camps for Nurse Educators® with renowned nursing leader, author, and speaker, Donna “Iggy” Ignatavicius (www.diassociates.com).  Deanne works with the gifted and talented Barb Bancroft (www.BarbBancroft.com) in over 200 national presentations/year, and is the Nurse Planner for Barb’s annual nurse educator conference in Chicago: Teaching Pharmacology. Deanne is manager for NurseTim.com working with Dr. Tim Bristol for conferences and webinars, including the a new national conference - Nuts and Bolts for Nurse Educators: Effective Strategies for NCLEX® Success to be held in August in Minneapolis (www.NurseTim.com).

      Deanne in a national speaker on using concept mapping in nursing education to foster critical thinking. She is co-author of Teaching Nursing Using Concept Mapping (2008) with Linda Caputi and is a contributing author of Teaching Nursing; the Art and Science with a chapter titled Using Concept Mapping to Foster Critical Thinking.  She also designed concept maps for DeLaune and Ladner’s Fundamentals of Nursing (3rd and 4theds).  Deanne was an advisor for Rosalinda Alfaro’s Critical Thinking and Clinical Judgment: A Practical Approach (4th ed.) and has contributed concept maps for Marilyn Oermann’s Clinical Teaching in Nursing Education (2nd and 3rd eds.).  She is a content contributor and instructor for Drexel University’s NCLEX-RN® EXCEL! review courses teaching nationally and internationally. Deanne provides the Drexel NCLEX® mini-reviews for the National Student Nurses Association (NSNA) midyear and annual conventions.

      Deanne has taught nursing in a community college in Northwest Arkansas, has been CE Director for AHEC-NW in Harrison, provided clinical instruction, worked as a Clinical Sales Consultant for Hill-Rom, was Head Nurse of SICU and PACU, and spent her foundational years in the critical care environment. She has a son at the College of the Ozarks, known as “Hard Work U” at Point Look-Out, Missouri taking prerequisites for the newly accredited BSN program (www.cofo.edu) under the direction of Dr. Janice Williams.  All students work on campus 15 hours/week in exchange for tuition.      Deanne is an associate of Donna “Iggy” Ignatavicius’s company, DI Associates, Inc. providing Boot Camps® for new and seasoned nurse educators in Albuquerque.  Experienced in ADN nursing, Deanne currently provides clinical instruction for North Arkansas College and facilitates NCLEX-RN® review programs.  Deanne presents programs to hospital staff and nursing programs on gerontology, concept mapping, NCLEX testing, and emotional IQ.
